Passionato are a London-based classical music startup with a team of employees bringing experience from Fox, HMV and Napster. CEO James Glicker approached us in 2007 about the idea developing a digital music store for the business and we formed a great working relationship. We were assigned the task of developing the programming side of the site, working closely with a design agency and Passionato's own in-house developers.
We coded the e-commerce platform for the website and developed from scratch a back-end application to import content directly from record labels such as Universal, EMI and Naxos, distributing it via Amazon's CDN. Passionato also features territory restrictions developed using location based services as we rolled out to the UK and parts of Europe.
The website was launched in 2008 and was featured by The Times, BBC and The Guardian. Passionato was also included as one of The Guardian's 'Top 100 websites for the Year Ahead'.
